So, I don't think I am at the "advanced" stage yet. I've done 4 live speaking gigs in my business (then maybe 6-10 of them in my graduate work, but that doesn't count because that was school...). So I am not advanced. BUT- this sounds great for those who are! I do wish I could find out more ways to GET speaking gigs. I want one live speaking gig per month in front of nurses. And one non-live speaking gig per month in front of non-nurses who want me to present to well-being/self-care/holistic health. Now- once I get those gigs... then I could be an "advanced" speaker and come join you all! Best of luck!
Elizabeth, getting gigs requires 1) research and 2) willingness not to get paid when you're starting out. You're probably already doing what you need to do: looking up nurses' and health/wellness organizations and then contacting them. Videotaping yourself and posting clips on your site will also help decision-makers in their vetting process. Good luck and I hope you can join the Advanced Speaker Mastermind when you've got more experience under your belt!
