How is public speaking coaching like going to the dentist?

Believe me, I know how resistant many of you are to seeking out public speaking coaching. By hiring a coach, you are acknowledging two things:

1. Your skills or confidence are lacking and you need help.

2. By working on your speaking, you are committing to doing more of it.

This is not easy, and I get it. In fact, a friend of mine compared hiring a speaking coach to going to the dentist.
